Florence + The Machine have postponed the remainder of their UK tour after singer Florence Welch broke her foot during a show in London on Friday night.
“I’m so sorry to say that after an x-ray it appears I danced on a broken foot last night,” Welch wrote in an Instagram post. “It’s not in my nature to postpone a show, let alone a UK tour, but I’m in pain and as dancers know it’s not a good idea to dance on an injury. And they have been told not to perform to avoid further damage.”
“I’m heartbroken as the ‘Dance Fever’ tour was my favorite show we’ve ever done.
the fellowship with you. Their beautiful faces shine,” Welch added. “I love you so much and I’m so sorry for anyone who’s disappointed. My heart hurts. I can’t wait to get back on my feet and be in your arms again.”
Florence + The Machine’s UK tour was due to run through the end of November. Welch advised fans to keep their tickets, as the band is “doing our best to reschedule those dates for next year.”
