Jack White will star in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film Killers of the Flower Moon, The Playlist has noticed and Pitchfork has confirmed. He is part of an ensemble cast that also includes fellow musicians Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson. The news was announced by music supervisor and Scorsese employee Randall Poster on screenwriter Brian Koppelman’s podcast, The Moment. Koppelman asked, “Does Jason Isbell play music in it? […] Is he just playing?”
Poster replied, “Yeah, he’s great at it. Jason Isbell, Jack White […] There are about four non-music musicians in the film.” Listen to the following podcast; Isbell and White’s conversation begins at the 57:09 mark.
Killers of the Flower Moon is based on the 2017 non-fiction book of the same name. In addition to White, Isbell, and Simpson, the film stars Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jesse Plemons, and others.
