Kid Rock calls Oprah a “fraud” for supporting Fetterman over Dr. oz

2 min read

Kid Rock called Oprah Winfrey “a fraud” for her support of Democratic candidate John Fetterman against Republic opponent and her former frequent talk show guest Dr. Mehmet Oz voting for the US Senate open seat in Pennsylvania.

Oprah supported Fetterman during the host’s “A Virtual Voting Conversation” event on Nov. 3 despite her long working relationship with Oz, who was a regular celebrity doctor guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Winfrey shared that “if I lived in Pennsylvania, I would have already voted for John Fetterman for many reasons.”

In a post about Twitter, Kid Rock responded to the confirmation by attempting to invalidate Oprah’s overall decision-making ability. “Oprah has Dr. helped Oz with his career,” he wrote. “I suppose because she checked him out and thought he was a wonderful person. Now she’s against him. Oprah is a fraud.” Though chronologically correct, his argument misses the mark by equating a television production’s hiring decision more than two decades ago with a former colleague’s lifelong support of politics.

The “American Bad Ass” artist previously targeted Winfrey during a drunken tirade in 2019 when he was caught on camera saying, “F**k her, she can suck d**k sideways.” Die Backlash over Kid Rock’s comments later forced him to end a licensing deal for his restaurant in his hometown of Detroit. The decision was announced in a statement in which he admitted to being “a vocal idiot” and not a racist, before insulting Al Sharpton and his “cronies”.

Oz himself responded to Winfrey’s rebuke of his candidacy Saturday during an interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade. According to Mediaite, the host asked Oz if he felt bothered after he “asked”. [Oprah] to stay on the sidelines,” to which he replied, “No. I love Oprah… you and I have different political views, and that’s okay.”

Winfrey was previously under scrutiny for her association with Oz. In 2020, Seth McFarlane criticized the celebrity doctor for spreading misinformation in the early days of the coronavirus and took Winfrey to task for her role in improving his platform. “Oprah has done some wonderfully altruistic things in her career,” he said. “I hope she will lend her own powerful voice to correct it.”

Oprah helped Dr. Oz on his career. I suppose because she checked him out and found him to be a wonderful person. Now she’s against him. Oprah is a scammer. -kids skirt.
