Kim Sane: Beats Without Borders

Kim Sane has been a fixture on the techno scene for well over a decade. With a strong emphasis on adaptability, his work is of digital diversity.

Its emphasis on the digital is twofold – first, a digital audio workstation takes up far less space on tour, and second, it allows for far more reach and adaptability. The experiments he undertakes involve cross-pollinating different techno genres, from breaks to progressive house. Such range means he continues to refine the sound with each release, keeping everything in perfect sync.

His world travels have inspired a number of his works. By bringing these ideas with him, he expanded his own sound. While initially concentrating on tech house, he has since moved towards melodic techno and indie house. Both particular strains are making something of a comeback, indie house with its own venues and melodic techno in a much larger, cultural aspect.

Community proves to be essential in the electronic music scene in general, but there are these capital cities of London, Paris and Bali, all of which feed into Kim’s style. Some of them have featured him at festivals like Ultra Music Festival Summer 2022 and Amsterdam Dance Event.

Kim Sane brings all of this together in a specific BPM range and proves how much can be done with the subtle moments, how melody and groove can become one.
