Morrissey cancels two tour dates due to illness

1 min read

Morrissey has canceled two upcoming tour dates, scheduled tonight in Salt Lake City and Wednesday in Denver, due to “band sickness.”

“Thank you to the fans for the continued love and support as we take a moment to recover and recover,” Morrissey said in a statement.

Effective immediately, the artist’s November 25 concert in Minneapolis will go ahead as scheduled, and refunds for the two canceled gigs are available with purchase.

Earlier this month, Morrissey ended his tour kickoff show in Los Angeles early due to “bad weather” – temperatures were in the mid-50s at the time. The notoriously spirited artist walked off the stage after nine songs, and a rep later said the show would not go ahead due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Additionally, shortly after this incident, Morrissey’s website was updated to say that his forthcoming album Bonfire of Teenagers “is no longer scheduled for a February release,” as previously announced. “His fate rests solely in the hands of Capitol Records [Los Angeles]’ the statement added.
