As Variety reports, a new three-part documentary about soft rock is coming to Paramount+. It’s titled “Sometimes When We Touch” and will be released on January 3 on the streaming platform. Check out the teaser trailer below.
The documentary, subtitled The Reign, Ruin and Resurrection of Soft Rock, delves into the history of the genre, which boomed in commercial popularity from the 1970s through the early 1980s. Sometimes When We Touch also includes commentary from Kenny Loggins, LA Reid, Sheryl Crow, Susanna Hoffs, and others.
MTV Entertainment Studios co-produced “Sometimes When We Touch” with studio Gunpowder & Sky. It focuses on artists such as Hall & Oates, Loggins, Lionel Richie, Air Supply and Michael McDonald, among others. Richie, who has had solo hits with soft rock tunes like “Hello” and “Truly,” was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.
